The University of Georgia’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will be highlighted by keynote speaker Kinsey Hicks, Program Coordinator, during the Walker County Chamber of Commerce’s April Membership Luncheon which will take place on Tuesday, April 22 at the Walker County Civic Center.
The Mission of the SBDC is to enhance the economic well-being of Georgians by providing a wide range of educational services for small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs.
During the event attendees will receive an overview this empowering organization whose services include consulting, continuing education, and research as well as a brief overview of social media for business.
Kinsey Hicks is a graduate from the University of West Georgia. She has been with the Rome SBDC office since May of 2013. Kinsey organizes, executes, and handles the marketing of all Continuing Education programs, teaches the Starting Your Own Business class, and promotes awareness of the SBDC through speaking engagements, management of our social media presence, and other public relations activities. She also creates new and interesting topics for classes based on what the clients may need or want. She is the first point of contact for the office; she provides clients with basic business information and resources to start or expand their small business.
The SBDC and Camp New Dawn will have a featured spotlight tables at the event; attendees will be invited to visit with these organizations during registration and after conclusion. Spotlight table hosts will be given two minutes to describe their organization during the program. Door prizes will also be sponsored by these great organizations.
